Construction is underway on Albemarle’s new lithium hydroxide plant being built in WA’s south-west, near Bunbury. Civmec’s Henderson facility will fabricate and pre-assemble components for on-site plant erection, with site works expected from mid-2019 to March 2021.
Civmec participated in the 2019 Euroz Big Walk for the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation on Sunday March 17.
Civmec will fabricate and modularise key components for BHP’s South Flank iron ore mine, currently under construction approximately 100km north-west of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Civmec has been awarded a significant contract from Albemarle Lithium Pty Ltd for the delivery of a new lithium hydroxide plant to be built in Western Australia’s south-west.
Civmec has partnered with Luerssen Australia and ASC to launch the Shipbuilding Education and Apprenticeship (SEA) program, which will help build the skills needed for Australia’s multibillion-dollar naval shipbuilding industry.
Civmec has achieved two important milestones at its Henderson facility:
- the erection of the first steel for one of the world’s largest undercover Ship Assembly Halls; and
- the preparation of steel for delivery to South Australia for Australia’s new fleet of Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).
