Civmec Limited (“Civmec” or the “Group”) through its wholly owned subsidiary Forgacs Marine and Defence Pty Ltd will today unveil plans for its new state-of-the-art shipbuilding facility primarily targeted at Naval Defence projects, at a ground-breaking ceremony today officiated by, the Honourable Colin Barnett, the Premier of Western Australia (“WA”).
Civmec has been awarded two significant contracts totaling AUD$160 million as part of the development of a processing facility for Rio Tinto’s Amrun project near Weipa in North Queensland.
ForgacsValco will provide valve maintenance services for all makes and a range of valve types. The services will primarily involve the repair, overhaul and testing of valves. All activity will be conducted within a dedicated valve workshop located at Civmec’s West Australian facility. The business will also have the capability to mobilise personnel to site at short notice for maintenance and breakdown support. ForgacsValco will offer a 24-hour engineering support helpline. Civmec is currently carrying out the contract to install all formwork, reinforcement and concrete required for the construction of the tunnel through Moore Park West and East (including through Anzac Parade). The works includes tie-in works and detail between a diaphragm wall and the reminder of the tunnel structure.
Civmec in joint venture with Black & Veatch (BCJV), has been awarded an EPC alliance model contract with the Water Corporation of Western Australia for the design and construction of the Woodman Point Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade to 180ml/day. The plant is located 22km south-east of Perth, Western Australia.
Civmec reached another major milestone on the Perth Stadium project, which sees Civmec’s works substantially complete.
Civmec is delighted to be the recipient of the ‘WA Employer of the Year’ Award, which was announced last Friday, 23 September at the WA Training Awards presentation dinner.
Civmec have been successfully delivering shutdown projects at various locations for Alcoa of Australia Limited, Rio Tinto Alcan, Fortescue Metal Group (FMG), Roy Hill Mining and CITIC Pacific, which has equated to approximately AUD30 million of revenue over the past nine months.
