Barrow Island and Henderson, WA

Civmec was initially awarded a contract for the supply of circa 46,000 cubic metres of precast concrete footings for the Gorgon LNG onshore process plant on Barrow Island.

Leveraging our strategic waterfront location, all precast components were manufactured at our Henderson facility. Throughout the course of the project, this scope expanded to include large manholes, walls, culverts, intake structures and slabs, with some items weighing up to 130 tonnes.

At the project’s peak, Civmec’s highly-skilled project team was producing over 1,250 cubic metres of precast concrete components and tieing over 60 tonnes of rebar per day, making the company the biggest consistent user of concrete in Australia at that time (according to supplier information).
