The John Brookes Platform provides 25 per cent of the domestic gas supply into Western Australia. The underwater pipe spool, measuring 35 metres by 25 metres, is a crucial component of this.

Usually, a project of this nature can take up to six months to complete, due to the documentation involved, non-destructive testing requirements and planning.

Civmec was contracted for our capabilities, facilities and previous experience on this type of spool fabrication. In collaboration with Santos and with teams working over the Christmas holiday period, we were able to accomplish the fabrication in just 3.5 weeks.
